Slutky Mamení is a skate zine based in Prague, Czech Republic. Created in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was a way to connect skaters and share their stories when unable to meet in person. Interviews were collected online with photoshoots taken in closed conditions in the now defunct skate warehouse at Kolbenova and the much beloved skate center at Eternia. With a series in collaboration in-residence at Divadlo X10.

The name “Slutky Mamení” is a play on words based on the song Sladky Mamení by Helena Vondračková with a punk-femme twist to reflect the street nature of skating and the fun and grungy aestetic of zines.

For this edition of Descussate Magazine it was important to have a perspective on the growing conversation surrounding art and technology, especially NFTs. As a creative who is skeptical of new tech I decided to step up to the challenge. Since this article I have continued my discourse with technology from a creative perspective. Believing that skepticism and critical discourse creates new and challenging perspectives that engineers and tech professional do not always consider.

About the magazine: Descussate Magazine is is an indie publication located in Austin, Texas. The Mag is an intersection between what is overlooked and what causes a stir, from the perspective of femmes who see it in their everyday lives.

The goal was to create a fully realized publication from start to finish.

Slutky Mamení #2 showcases the Liminal Disco events at Divadlo X10 and Jizdarna Savarin. This edition is more visual but will be followed up by an #3 edition featuring skateparks around Czech Republic and beyond.
